SHRINEs’ First Tech Workshop

On January 23 and 24, SHRINES organised its first tech workshop.

The event was a unique occasion to present potential innovative technologies and discussion on their application for preparedness and prevention in the context of protecting places of worship.

More than 50 guests attended the Workshop, including representative of 6 different religious groups, 4 members from the SHRINEs community, researchers from the Politecnico di Torino and Ithaca Srl as well as relevant companies developing safety & security systems such as Inim, Capetti Elettronica S.r.l., MAVTech and Aitek S.p.A..

In addition, the engineer , Mayor of the city of Assisi, and Prof. , the President of the Turin Interfaith Committee, provided the opening remarks underlining the importance of tailoring technological solutions to places of worship.

The workshop was a great occasion to discuss about new technologies vital for protection public spaces and facilities, furthermore partners had the chance to share their experiences and best practices on safeguarding cultural and religious heritage.

The event set an important milestone of the SHRINEs project in connecting the technological applications to the real needs of the places of worship.

 

Project and partners’ efforts continue to create a safer Europe.
